Japan national held with 11kg gold at Dhaka airport

Dhaka customs officials detained a Japan national from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport along with 11Kg gold bars in the small hours of Saturday.
Dhaka customs house assistant commissioner Saidul Islam said, “Acting on tip off the intelligence officials searched the Japanese, who came from Singapore by a Regent Airways flight around 12:40am.”
Price of the recovered gold bars is about Tk 55 million, he said.
Saidul Islam said they will hand over the Japanese to the police.
