Mezbah went missing two months ago

One of the suspected militants killed in the RAB raid in Dhaka’s Nakhalpara area on Friday, was identified as Mezbah Uddin alias Zahid.
Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) conducted the raid in the building, approximately 100 yards away from the prime minister's office where the three suspected militants were killed.
According to Prothom Alo Comilla correspondent, Mezbah was from Hasnabad union of Monoharganj upazila of Comilla. Mezbah’s house is locally known as ‘Moulvibari’ in the area.
Comilla’s Hasnabad union parishad chairman Kamal Hossain on Sunday night said Mezbah went missing from Dhaka two months ago.
RAB director general Benazir Ahmed told reporters, two national identity cards with the same photo was recovered from one of the suspected militants. One of the ID cards had the name Zahid and the other had the name Sajib.
Our Comilla correspondent said RAB picked up members of Mezbah’s family on Saturday morning for interrogation.
Meanwhile RAB’s media wing in a mobile message to the media at 3:30pm Sunday afternoon, confirmed the identity of one of the three deceased suspected militants as Mezbah Uddin. Later, in another message around 6:30pm, RAB informed the media that Mezbah’s father, mother, brother and wife were on their way to Dhaka from Comilla for interrogation.
Monohharganj police inspector (Investigation) Nazrul Islam said Mezbah was living in Dhaka for the last 15 years. He was a trader of used tyres in Syedabad, Dhaka and also had a shop.
Nazrul Islam said Mezbah got married after last Ramadan. His wife is three months pregnant. Mezbah’s elderly father use to look after the house in Comilla, he added.
Asked whether any general diary with Monoharganj police station was filed about Mezbah being missing, inspector Nazrul Islam said, Mezbah went missing from Dhaka and the GD was filed in Dhaka. Mezbah’s family, however, could not say anything about filing GD at any police station in Dhaka.
RAB-3 commander Emranul Hasan told Prothom Alo that Mezbah was identified from his the fingerprints filed at their information centre. The other two suspected militants were not yet identified.
