Man held with 43 gold bars from Dhaka airport

Custom intelligence in a drive arrested a man with 43 gold bars from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Monday night, reports news agency UNB.
Being tipped-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) challenged Md Anwar Hossain, a passenger arrived from Singapore while passing the green channel.
Anwar, a resident of Mohammadpur area, bearing passport No- B0176047, arrived at the airport at around 9:00pm, said director general of CIID Mainul Khan.
During interrogation, Anwar denied having any gold.
Later, they searched his body and found the gold weighing 4.3 kilograms worth around Tk 21million from his underwear, said the official.
