Bangladesh Awami League (AL) president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday renewed her scathing attack on those who always “wait for an unconstitutional government” in the country to gain their personal benefits, reports UNB.

"There are people of another class in our country, who are the problem. They don't feel well when democratic process continues," she told parliament.

The prime minister made the remark while responding to a supplementary question from Jatiya Party MP Fakhrul Imam during the PM's question-answer session.

She also said this section of people do not see development when the country is marching towards progress. "They're blind even having their eyes and they're deaf even having their ears."

"One thing works in their mind that they get importance when an abnormal or unconstitutional government gets installed or the state of emergency is promulgated in the country," added the prime minister.

Hasina said this section of people has the desire to come to power and get the national flag [to fly in their cars]. "But their desire won't be fulfilled. They'll have to go to people to seek vote for getting elected [to fulfill the desire], but they don't have such quality [to go to people]."

The prime minister bemoaned that these people even don’t see the development of the country as they always look for wrong ways to come to power.

"They've also conducted many research works but I don't know the sources of their research funds. Their researches don't reflect any development of the country."

Hasina went on saying, "Many people think there'll be a scope for freethinking in the country when I'm in power, but there's also a different class of people who think there're all problems for them if I'm in power."

She claimed the people of Bangladesh support her and she cares little about her life.

Noting that a section of people becomes active during every election, Hasina said they are always busy doing things harmful to people and do not see any development.

"These people see everything fine when emergency is promulgated and they get offer to join the government. The people of this section are the most painful elements for the country and its people," she added.
