Rohingya man killed in elephant attack

A Rohingya man was killed in an elephant attack in Majurchhara area of Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar early Friday.

The deceased is Yakub Ali, 45, son of a certain Mahmud Ali, reports UNB.

Quoting family members, Ukhia police station officer-in-charge Abul Khayer said a wild elephant entered the camp around 3:00am and killed Yakub with its trunk.

Earlier, 12 Rohingyas, including women and children, were killed in several elephant attacks in the Rohingya camp.
