DU student found dead in Shitalakhya

The body of a Dhaka University student was found in the river Shitalakhya in Narayanganj on Monday morning.

The deceased, Parvez Ahmed, is a second year student of Dhaka University’s Social Welfare and Research Institute.

Quoting Pavez’s family, officer-in-charge (OC) of Rupganj police station, Sajjadur Rahman, said Parvez Ahmed was working as a part time employee at the Meghna Sramajibi Samabay Samity (a workers' cooperative association) in the area.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Jahangir, Sohag and Sharmin of the association for interrogation.

Parvez failed to return home after someone called him out over the phone around 8:00pm on Sunday.

On Monday morning, local people found Parvez's body on the bank of the river.

The police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.

The OC also said no injury marks were found on his body.
