Khaleda’s relations visibly upset

BNP chairperson left her house in Gulshan at 12 noon today, Thursday, heading for the court where the verdict of the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case is to be announced.
Khaleda Zia is the principal accused in the case. She has voiced apprehensions that the verdict will go against her at the ‘intervention of the government’.
Close relatives of Khaleda Zia arrived at her Gulshan house in the morning. The relatives there included her elder sister, her sister’s husband, her brother Shameem Iskander, the wives of her two brothers, and in-laws of her younger son Arafat Rahman (Koko).
When Khaleda Zia emerged from her house to enter her vehicle, her relatives were visibly upset. Some of them broke down in tears. Khaleda Zia consoled them and asked them to pray for her.
BNP chairperson’s press wing officer Shairul Kabir Khan told Prothom Alo BNP chairperson’s convoy of vehicles to the court was accompanied by BNP’s standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan, and lawyers AJ Mohammed Ali, Kaiser Kamal and Naushad Jamil. Shairul said, as she left her home, Khaleda Zia asked the people of the country to pray for her.
