Suspected robber ‘beaten’ dead in Shariatpur

A suspected robber was killed as the villagers gouged out his eyes in east Charashondi village of Shariatpur sadar upazila early Saturday

The deceased is Delwar Hossain Khan, 40, resident of Dasmantara village of Damudya upazila of the district.

Being informed about a robbery, a police team conducted a drive in the village and found Delwar in serious condition with his eyes gouged out and severe injury marks on his body around 2:00am, said Shariatpur’s Palang sadar model police station sub inspector Gulzar Alam.    

Delwar was then rushed to the sadar hospital where he succumbed to his injuries Saturday early morning, the SI added.
