Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained a total of 11 foreigners who made an attempt to enter Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Ukhia of Cox's Bazar.

The elite force held them in front of a relief centre at Ukhia Degree College on Friday noon.

According to police, two foreigners were from Italy and two from United Kingdom while the rest seven were from Netherlands, Turkey, South Korea, Kenya, Brazil, Belgium and Norway.

Ukhia police station officer-in-charge Abul Khayer said the RAB handed over the 11 foreign nationals to the police station on Friday afternoon.

The detained foreigners, who had no passports in their possession, were going to Kutupalong of Ukhia from Cox's Bazar town, the police official quoted the foreigners as saying.

Abul Khayer also said the foreigners claimed that they had left their passports in the capital city.
