2 Sylhet cops withdrawn over negligence of duty

Two assistant sub-inspectors of Sylhet court police have been withdrawn over the escape of an accused from the custody on Tuesday, reports UNB.

Amulya Kumar Chowdhury, assistant commissioner of Sylhet metropolitan police, said the action was taken against Belal Uddin and Shafiq.

Police said Alamin, 20, son of Shafiul Alam of Bishwambarpur upazila in Sunamganj district, who was accused in several cases, including that of robbery, fled from the police custody breaking the handcuffs while being produced before a court in Sylhet on Tuesday noon.

Later, the authorities concerned withdrew the two ASIs for negligence of duty over the incident.
