17 Bangladeshi plane crash victims among 25 identified

Authorities in Nepal have identified a total of 25 victims, including 17 Bangladeshis, killed in the US-Bangla aircraft crash in Tribhuvan airport on 12 March.

Head of forensic department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Sohel Mahmud confirmed this to the relatives of the Bangladeshi victims gathered in front of Kathmandu Medical College in Nepal on Saturday afternoon.

The identified Bangladeshi victims are Foysal Ahmed, Bilkis Ara, Akhtara Begum, Rokibul Hasan, Sanzida Haque, Hasan Imam, Meenhaz Bin Nasir, Tamara Priyonmoyee, Motiur Rahman, SM Mahmudur Rahman, Tahira Tanvin Shashi, Aniruddha Zaman, Nuruz Zaman, Rafiquz Zaman, Khwaja Saifullah, pilot Abid Sultan, and co-pilot Prithula Rashid.

On Friday, foreign ministry officials said that the bodies will be flown to Bangladesh Tuesday.
A total of 27 dead bodies including 9 Nepalese and one Chinese have been identified so far.

Nine more bodies are yet to be identified in the plane crash, Sohel said.
