Train kills two sexagenarians

Two sexagenarian people were crushed under the wheels of a train at Belpukur railway crossing in Puthiya upazila of Rajshahi district on Wednesday, reports News Agency BSS.

The deceased are Kurban Ali, 68, and Shamsul Alam, 65, residents of the area, police said.

The two old men were run over by the train while they were crossing the railway track around 4:00pm, leaving both of them dead on the spot, said Belpurkur police station inspector (investigation) Kabirul Islam.

On information, police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy, he said.

An unnatural death (UD) case was also lodged with the police station in this connection, the inspector added.
