PM for no quota?

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina has said there will be no quota in the government jobs, top Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders claimed on Wednesday.

BCL president Md Saifur Rahman Shohag and general secretary SM Zakir Hossain both made the claims on their respective Facebook profiles at noon, after visiting Ganabhaban in the morning.

Later, the duo made similar statements at a press conference at Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen.

However, their claim could not be verified.

The prime minister will speak on the quota system in parliament today (Wednesday), the leaders of BCL, the student wing of ruling AL, also said.

The Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Sangrakkhon Parishad (Bangladesh General Students' Rights Protection Council) has been demonstrating across the country to bring reforms in the existing quota system in the government jobs.
