Train derailed, 4 die

At least four people were killed and another 15 injured as a passenger train was derailed in Gazipur's Tongi on Sunday.

The details about the deceased could not be known immediately.

Sub-inspector Raqibul Haque of Tongi Government Railway Police told Prothom Alo that a Dhaka-bound 'Commuter Train' from Jamalpur derailed in the area, leaving three of its passengers dead on the spot.

The accident also snapped train communication of Dhaka with northern parts of the country, he added.
