In an oblique reference to opposition Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader on Tuesday said a big political party doesn't own the Liberation War but uses it in the election manifesto to convince the voters, reports BSS.

"Those who don't accept the settled issues of the Liberation War, including the historic 7 March and 17 April, but use the Liberation War in the election manifesto, will be condemned in history," Quader told newsmen.

Also the road transport and bridges minister, Quader was talking to newsmen after placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in city's Dhanmondi 32 marking the historic Mujibnagar Day.

AL presidium members Begum Matia Chowdhury and Abdul Matin Khasru, organizing secretaries Ahmed Hossain and Enamul Haque Shamim were among others present.

Earlier, Quader placed wreath on the portrait of Bangabandhu on behalf of Bangladesh Awami League president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina.

Later, AL associate bodies and different socio-cultural organisations placed wreaths on the portrait.
