3 including minor killed in road crashes

Three people including a minor girl have been killed in separate road accidents in two districts, reports UNB.

A man and his minor daughter were killed while his wife sustained injuries when a bus hit his motorbike on Bagerhat-Khulna highway at Kathaltala in Fakirhat upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased are Anisuzzaman, 40, and his daughter Ranisa, 4, said Azizul Haq, officer-in-charge of Katakhali Highway police camp.

The accident took place around 9:00am when a Dhaka-bound bus from Rayenda hit a motorbike carrying three people, leaving Anisuazzaman killed on the spot and injured two others, police said.

The injured were taken to Khulna Medical College Hospital where physicians declared Ranisa dead, he added.

In another road accident, an elderly man was killed as a bus knocked him down at Kingshuk in Sadar upazila in Gopalganj on Wednesday.

Manirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Sadar police station, said a Khulna-bound bus of 'Ruposhi Paribahan' hit Kanai Lal Thakur, 70, son of Churi Lal Thakur of Padmavila village in Sadar upazila around 9:00am, leaving him dead on the spot.
