A day after bus collision victim Rajib Hossain's death, another victim of a road accident is wincing in pain in Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Khalid Hasan aka Ridoy, an assistant to a bus driver, also lost his arm like Rajib as a speeding truck severed his right hand while overtaking his bus in Betpara bus stand area of Gopalganj on Tuesday.

Admitted to DMCH with his arm severed and cuts and bruises all over his face, Khalid said, "I could not understand anything. I found my arm hanging on the window of the bus and lost my consciousness immediately."

Khalid, 20, was rushed to a local hospital and then was transferred to DMCH where he underwent a surgery.

Khalid's father Rabiul said Khalid was not even drinking water.

"He was given eight bags of blood during the surgery. Now he is stable but feeling unbearable pain without pain killer," he added.

A duty doctor examining Khalid told Prothom Alo that Khalid has lost his right arm permanently. The next steps of treatment would be taken once he recovers form the injury.

Khalid is the youngest of his parents' three children. One of his sisters is studying computer science at a private university. Khalid was bearing the cost of his elder sister's education.
