2 held over primary school head teacher’s murder

The head teacher of a government primary school was found dead in Dumuria village of Adamdighi upazila in Bogura on Friday morning.

The deceased is Abdur Rashid, 50, head teacher of Dumuria Government Primary School and a resident of the village, reports UNB.

Local people found the body of Abdur Rashid one kilometre away from his residence around 8:00am and informed police.

On Information, police recovered the body and sent it to a local hospital morgue for an autopsy.

Police said the body bore several marks of stabbing.

Quoting his family members, police said Abdur Rashid went missing after he had come out of his house around 10:00pm for feeding fish in a pond.

Adamdhighi police station officer-in-charge Zahiduzzaman said they arrested a couple -Abdur Razzak, 35 and his wife Mahfuza Begum, 28 - for their suspected involvement with the murder.

Police suspected that Abdur Rashid might have been killed over extramarital relationship with Mahfuza, said the OC.
