Dhaka University vice chancellor professor Md Akhtaruzzaman said on Friday that three students of Kabi Sufia Kamal Hall of the university were handed over to their guardians and they were not forced out from the hall, news agency UNB reports.

The vice chancellor said this while speaking at a press briefing at his residence on Friday.

He also said that also said that this was done to avert unwanted situation on the campus.

The vice chancellor maintained that it is a rumour that  they were forced out from the hall.

“It’s completely a rumour. Such incident did not take place in the dormitory. The authorities concerned of the hall handed over three students to their guardians for their alleged involvement in spreading rumour about the hall through fake Facebook accounts,” he said.

The vice chancellor also urged the guardians to ask their children to refrain from spreading rumour through Facebook.

“As yesterday was Thursday so anyone can go home at 9 pm. It is totally a propaganda against the university authorities,” said Akhtaruzzaman.

Several students of Kabi Sufia Kamal hall of Dhaka University (DU) were allegedly forced out of their dormitory early Friday.
