The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) summoned deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman to appear before it on 3 May for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth, reports UNB.

Farid Ahmed, deputy director of ACC, is investigating the allegation, said ACC public relations officer Kanak Kumar Bhattacharya.

Kanak Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB that they sent a letter to the office of DIG on Wednesday.

Earlier in January, Mizanur Rahman was withdrawn from the DMP headquarters and attached to the police headquarters following allegation of marrying a woman forcefully and torturing her.

Mizan allegedly picked up Morium Akter and forcefully married her.

Later following a family feud Mizanur instigated arrest of Morium in a false case.
