Schoolgirl found hanging

Police recovered the hanging body of a schoolgirl from Raypara area in Rajshahi city on Friday.

The deceased is Asha Khatun, 12, a class-VII student and daughter of a certain Shariful Islam of the area, reports UNB.

The victim's mother Sagra Begum found Asha hanging in her bedroom around 11:00am and informed police, said Kashiadanga police station officer-in-charge Rabiul Islam.

Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, he said.

Initially, it is assumed that she might have committed suicide, police said.

Asha got married around four months back, police said quoting the victim's family members.
