Man injured as two launches collide at Sadarghat

A man was injured in a head-on collision between two launches in Buriganga river at Sadarghat Launch Terminal in the capital on Thursday morning.

The injured has been undergoing treatment at Mitford Hospital, said Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority joint director (security and traffic) Alamgir Kabir.

A Dhaka-bound water vehicle ‘MV Sabbir-2’ from Patuakhali collided head-on with Barishal-bound ‘MV Greenline-2’ around 8:00am.

The incident took place five minutes after the MV Greenline-2 left the terminal with 318 passengers from Sadarghat.

The ‘MV-Greenine-2’ authorities postponed the trip.
