The officer-in-charge of Labanchara police station was withdrawn for the negligence of duty during Khulna City Corporation election on 15 May, reports UNB.

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) handed down the order against the OC, Md Shariful Islam in the evening, confirmed ADC Sonali Sen, a spokesperson of KMP.
The decision came after images depicting the ballots sealed in favour of a political party went viral and got published by sections of the media after BNP nominated mayoral candidate Nazrul Islam Manju took journalists during his visit to the centre and showed them the scenario.
Voting in two polling centres of ward no 31, under the said police station, had to be suspended due to the incidents of vote rigging during the polls.
