Selfie craze costs boy's life

A teenage boy was crushed under the wheels of train and another injured while taking a selfie at Lalbagh area in Chattogram's Sitakunda upazila on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Sahed, 16, son of Abdur Sattar of Kadamrasul area in the upazila.

Sub-inspector Alauddin Talukdar of Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) police outpost said two friends were returning home after Jummah prayer. On the way, they were taking a selfie standing aside the rail tracks when a train hit them.

Critically injured, both of them were taken to the CMCH where the on-duty physician declared Sahed dead in the afternoon, said the SI.

Injured Mohammad Hasan, 15, son of Alauddin Ahmed of the area, was undergoing treatment in the hospital, the SI added.
