Alleged drug traders among 64 held

Police, in special drives arrested 64 persons including 32 alleged drug traders from different areas of the Dinajpur district from Monday night to Tuesday morning.

Law enforcement also recovered 600 litres of locally-made liquor and 209 bottles of Phensedyl during the drives, reports BSS.

Police said the detainees were picked up from different upazilas of the district.

During the drives, police in Dinajpur sadar arrested 12 alleged drug traders with 600 litres of locally-made liquor and 209 bottles of Phensedyl.

The police also arrested four persons from Birganj, 20 from Parbatipur, 13 from Ghoraghat, seven from Chirirbandar, and two alleged drug traders each from Biral, Kaharole, Khansama and Nawabganj upazilas.

Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.

The arrested persons were sent to jail.
