Khaleda’s bail extended in charitable trust graft case

A Dhaka court on Monday extended the bail of BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia until 28 June in Zia Charitable Trust graft case.

Judge Md Akhteruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 handed down the order and fixed the new date, reports UNB.

The court also withdrew a production warrant.

However, Khaleda, was not produced before the court as she is ill, said her lawyer Sanaullah Miah.

Earlier, on 10 May, the court extended bail of Khaleda Zia until 4 June in the corruption case.

On 22 April, the same court extended her bail until 10 May in the graft case.

On 8 February, the special court convicted the former prime minister and sentenced her to five years’ imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
