Khaleque’s wife wins Bagerhat-3 by-polls uncontested

Ruling Bangladesh Awami League (AL) candidate Habibun Nahar Bina has been elected uncontested in the by-election to Bagerhat-3 constituency, reports BSS.

Returning Officer Md Nuruzzaman Talukdar today, Monday, officially announced that Habibun Nahar, wife of newly-elected Khulna city mayor Talukdar Abdul Khaleque, won the by-election to the constituency which fell vacant after Khaleque relinquished the parliamentary membership to join the mayoral elections.

As per election schedule, the by-election was scheduled to be held on 26 June this year.
