The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) detained the office assistant of Satkhira Zila Parishad from his office on Tuesday reportedly while taking Tk 100,000 as bribe, reports UNB.

Tipped off that office assistant AKM Shahiduzzaman would take Tk 100,000 as bribe from the headmaster of Debnagar Rokeya High School for increasing the allocation for its development, an ACC team took position in the office in the morning, said Abul Hasan, ACC's Khunla divisional director.

The team caught him while taking the amount from the headmaster, he said.

Meanwhile, Zila Parishad chairman Nazrul Islam and vice-chairman Shahiduzzaman at a press conference at Satkhira Press Club claimed that Shahiduzzaman was arrested as part of a plot hatched by Zia Parishad chief executive Mahbubur Rahman.
