3 HSC examinees commit suicide in 3 districts

Three Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees, who failed in this years' examination, committed suicide in Manikganj, Khulna and Panchagarh districts on Thursday and Friday.

The deceased are Mitu Akter, daughter of a certain Mosaddek Hossain of Kusta Village in Ghior upazila of Manikganj, Oisharya Roy, 18, daughter of one Babul Roy in Khulna and Shabnur Akter, 19, daughter of one Rafiqul Islam from East Jalshi in Panchagarh district town, reports UNB.

In Manikganj, Mitu Akter committed suicide by taking poison on Friday morning as she failed to pass the examination, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ghior police station.

In Khulna, Oisharya Roy committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan around 11:00pm in Maniktala of the city, said Kazi Mustaq Ahmed, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur police station.

She appeared in the examination from Mohsin Mohila College.

In Panchagarh, Shabnur Akter from East Jalshi in the district town, committed suicide for failing to secure pass marks in this year's HSC examination.

She appeared in the examination from Panchagarh Government College and failed for the second time, said Rabiul Hasan Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Paanchagarh police station.
