Blogger Avijit murder in world media

The killing of blogger Avijit on Thursday night in the capital has drawn attention of the world media.
The Bangladeshi origin American blogger was hacked to death on Thursday night on the Dhaka University campus by unidentified assailants.
The blogger used to write against religious fundamentalism in 'mukto-mona (Free mind)', a Bangla blog which champions liberal secular writings.
International news media like AP, AFP, Guardian, and Huffington Post published the news of the killing.
The news agency AFP covered the news titled "Atheist US blogger hacked to death in Bangladesh".
"A prominent American blogger of Bangladeshi origin was hacked to death with machetes by unidentified assailants in Dhaka on Thursday," reported AFP.
The Huffington Post published a news titled "American Blogger Avijit Roy Killed In Bangladesh; Wife Also Injured In Cleaver Attack", saying, "A prominent Bangladeshi-American blogger known for speaking out against religious fundamentalism was hacked to death in the streets of Bangladesh's capital as he walked with his wife".
The newspaper Guardian published a report titled as "American atheist blogger hacked to death in Bangladesh."
Besides, the news agency AP also published news on the killing of Avijit Roy.
However, two bloggers have been hacked to death till the date including this one in the last two years in Dhaka. Another prominent writer Professor Humayun Azad was also attacked by the Islamists, and later succumbed to his injuries.
