Shakib hits double ton, Mushfiq makes century

Online Desk | Update:

Shakib Al Hasan hit his career's maiden double ton while skipper Mushfiqur Rahim also made a century to put Bangladesh in control on the second day of the first Test on Friday.
Shakib hit a four off a Colin de Grandhomme delivery to reach the magic figure on a day when he and Mushfiq broke records after records. The Tigers now have 518 for 4.
The aggressive left-handed batsman, now unbeaten on 204, slammed 30 fours on his way to the double century while Mushfiq is not out on 159 thanks to 23 fours and a six.
Earlier, Mominul Haque failed to add a run to his first day’s 64, but Shakib and Mushfiq did not let the Kiwis strengthen their hold.
The duo have made 358 in the fifth wicket partnership, the highest ever for Bangladesh.
