Russian, Bangladeshi chambers optimistic about promoting bilateral trade

A fruitful bilateral meeting between Commonwealth of Independent States-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CIS-BCCI) and St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held on 24 November 2017 at St. Petersburg, Russia, said a press release Sunday.

CIS-BCCI president, Habib Ullah Dawn, also a director of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), led the CIS-BCCI delegation while St. Petersburg Chamber vice president Lebedeva led her side.

While speaking at the meeting, Habib Ullah highlighted some key areas of opportunities for bilateral trade, business and innovation between Russia and Bangladesh.

Vice president of CIS-BCCI Akash seconded him with data and market dynamics through a presentation.

The St Petersburg Chamber vice president said she was very optimistic about the chambers’ roles to further the business relationships between the two friendly countries.

CIS-BCCI director and special representative of global printing and publishing industries Mehedi Hasan presented an elaborate discussion regarding the education, printing and publications sector, highlighting the opportunities the two countries can explore and thus collaborate to promote academics, culture and heritage.

At the end of the meeting, CIS-BCCI president Habib Ullah handed over a crest to the St. Petersburg Chamber vice president.

She also reciprocated by handing over some publication documents and journals of her chamber to Mehedi, also the International Director of Academic & Creative Publisher’s Association Bangladesh.

CIS-BCCI extended an invitation to the St Petersburg’s Chamber of Commerce & Industries for a corresponding visit to Bangladesh in 2018 for more bilateral business opportunities.

The Russian chamber’s vice president gladly accepted the invitation and said her chamber looked forward to visiting the CIS-BCCI office in Bangladesh.
