Minister hints at Biman job cut

Civil aviation and tourism minister AKM Shahjahan Kamal on Tuesday recommended cutting jobs of aged and incapable employees of the national career to gear up its services.

He made the recommendation as he voiced disappointment over poor luggage handling at the country's premier airport,

The minister also suggested employing young and energetic manpower to provide quality services to passengers.

The minister came up with the suggestions at a pre-budget discussion at Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) hosted by Aviation and Tourism Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (ATJFB).

Chairman of the parliamentary standing committee on the ministry and former minister Faruk Khan attended the function as a special guest.

The minister accepted the demands of stakeholders and assured them of placing those proposals before the finance minister AMA Muhith.
