Mahiya Mahi returned from India on Thursday. She talked to Prothom Alo over phone from the Dhaka airport about her work and other things.

Did you go to Kolkata for shooting?
Yes. It's a joint production film called 'Tui Shudhu Amar' directed by Joydeep Mukherjee. I shot a wedding scene there with Soham. The shooting was completed in two days. It was a three-day schedule though.
I will have to shoot for another film from 3 February.

It seems you have been very busy shooting.
Yes, kind of. We will start shooting for the first phase of 'Ananda Osru'. Then I will finish shooting for 'Mone Rekho'. Besides, I have schedules for 'Premer Badhon' 'Pobitro Bhalobasha' and 'Amar Maa Amar Behesht' till April.

How do you spend your free time?
Actually I have two lives now. One is in my in-laws' house and another is in my work place. My mother always stays with me during shooting. So I don't have to spend time with her separately. I try to stay with my in-laws whenever I get spare time.

Many say your acting in 'Dhaka Attack' failed to meet expectations. How do you rate yourself in the film?
My acting in 'Dhaka Attack' was not worth rating and I do not give myself any credit there either.
But I don't think this is entirely my fault because I have worked in many films such as 'Pora Mon', 'Onek Shadher Moyna', 'Ogni', Dobir Shaheber Songsar' and 'Krishnopakkho' earlier where viewers loved my roles.

Several makers said you did not take heed of the maker or the costume designers’ opinions in dress selection. Is it true?

Never. I wear costumes required by the roles. But, it’s true that I shared my views on costumes in the restaurant scene in Dhaka Attack.

There is allegation tha you take extra persons as assistants to shooting spots. What do you say?

I don’t take anyone other than needed for my shooting-assistants for makeup and dress along with my mother-that’s it!
