It has been 14 years since their last album was released. The band members are a bit older now, so are their fans.

Bangladeshi music band Renaissance formed in late 80’s has announced their come back with a new album.

There will be 10 songs in the album with the band’s original lyrics and tunes, said Nakib Khan, one of the vocals of the band.

“Why so late?” Nakib Khan replies, “We all are busy with our jobs. It took us some time to prepare the songs.”

“The members of Renaissance are very selective and choosy about the quality of our songs. Good songs need time,” he added.

The enormously popular band released their last album in 2004. The album titled “Ekush Shotoke Renaissance” was the fourth album of the band.

The band members are involved in various professions now. Pilu Khan lives in Malaysia and recently came to Bangladesh to work on the album.

“I will go back to Malaysia on 12 July. I will complete my part of recording in this time,” Pilu Khan told Prothom Alo.

Nakib Khan did give any specific date of release, but said the album would be released this year.

Nakib Khan formed the band in 1985 after leaving another band ‘Souls’. Their first album was released in 1988 creating a huge buzz among music lovers at the time.

The band members are Nakib Khan, Pilu Khan, Rezaur Rahman, Imran Rahman, Kazi Hablu and Kartik.
