Tenzing-Hillary Everest Marathon in Nepal

The historical ascent on Mount Everest by Tenzing Norgay and Sir Edmund Hillary is celebrated every year by an international sports event, the Tenzing Hillary Everest Marathon on 29 May.

The event is held at the Everest Base Camp and involves crossing the high sherpa trails of Khumbu valley. In the 16th Everest marathon of 2018, runners took part in 60 kilometeres extreme ultra, 42 kilometres full marathon and 21 kilometres half marathon.
Professional and new ones from Nepal and other countries took part in this world highest marathon marking the 65th anniversary of the first summit of the peak in 1953.
