Bangladesh staged another forgettable performance on Sunday as Sri Lanka humbled the hosts by 75 runs to win the T20 series 2-0.

Chasing 211, the Tigers were bundled out for 135, with four of the top six batsmen failing to reach double digit.

The loss wrapped up an episode to forget for the hosts, who lost the tri-nation series final to the Lions and then were beaten in the Test series, too. The fact that the visitors were led by their immediate past coach Chandika Hathurusingha made it a bitter pill to swallow for the Tigers fans.

Opener Kusal Mendis hit his second fifty in as many games while Danushka Gunathilaka's bat also sparked as Sri Lanka posted 210 for 4 put in to bat first.

The duo made 98 in the first wicket to set the perfect platform for the next batsmen to record a big total.

Kusal's blistering 70 came off just 42 balls, thanks to six fours and three sixes, but Gunathilaka failed to make it a fifty despite starting very brightly. The stand was broken when he gave a catch to Tamim Iqbal off a Soumya Sarkar delivery. His 42 off 37 balls featured three fours and two sixes.

Besides the duo, three quickfire innings from Thisara Perera (31 off 17), Upul Tharanga (25 off 13) and Dasun Shanaka (30 off 11) took the Lions past 200.

The batsmen of the home side were clueless in the chase of such a big total and the hosts were second best right from the beginning. Only Tamim Iqbal, back to the side after an injury, showed some resistance early in the innings with a 29 off 23 balls.

Skipper Mahmudullah was the top-scorer with 41 off 31 deliveries while Mohammad Saifuddin's 20 helped give the scorecard a more respectable look.

Seven different bowlers claimed at least one wicket for Sri Lanka, a rare incident in a T20 game.

Leading them were Gunathilaka, who bagged two wickets bowling just four balls, and Shehan Madushanka, who bagged a brace but could not finish the game due to an injury.

Kusal Mendis was adjudged both the Player of the Match and the Player of the Series.
