Injury-hit all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is likely to be back soon in the squad as he joined a fitness training on Thursday.

“Now, I feel much better. But, physicians can tell more about that,” said Shakib while returning from a fitness training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium’s gymnasium in Mirpur, Dhaka.

Shakib’s quick recovery will definitely be good news for Bangladesh after the defeat in the tri-nation ODI tournament and humiliating Test and T20I series against Sri Lanka at home.

Tigers will play matches against hosts Sri Lanka and India in the upcoming tri-nation series.

Bangladesh Cricket Board physician Debashish Chowdhury said that Shakib is recovering quickly and he might start bowling and batting in next three or four days.

''If everything goes right, Shakib is hoped to play in the tri-nation series (2018 Nidahas Trophy),'' he added.

The T20I series will continue from 15 to 30 March in Sri Lanka.

Shakib dropped out of the squad after sustaining a finger injury during the final match against the visiting Lankans in the tri-nation series in Dhaka in January this year.
