Brazil's misery could be Real Madrid's gain with Germany star Toni Kroos poised to join the Spanish giants from Bayern Munich on the back of an outstanding World Cup.

Kroos, 24, was man of the match Tuesday with two goals and a pin-point accurate corner for Thomas Mueller's opener in the stunning 7-1 semi-final rout of Brazil.

His Munich contract is set to expire in June 2015 but he has rejected Bayern's numerous renewal offers.

On the eve of Germany's quarter-final win over France, Spanish newspaper Marca said a deal worth 25 million euros (US$34m) has been signed to take him to Real.

"I will be saying something only after the tournament," has been his standard reply to questions about his future plans.
