A section of students at Dhaka University (DU) on Tuesday burned the effigy of proctor Golam Rabbani protesting at BCL attacks on them and demanding his resignation, reports UNB.

More than one hundred students under the banner ' Anti- harassment Students Forum' brought out a procession from the Teachers Students Centre (TSC) on the campus and stopped in front of Raju Sculpture after parading through Arts building, business faculty, Aparajeya Bangla and the Central Library.

They burnt the effigy of the university proctor Golam Rabbani in front of the Raju Sculpture about 1:30pm.

A third year student of mass communication and journalism said, "The proctor always wants to avoid us. If we go to his office to press home our demand, he locks the gate and doesn't meet us."
