Anti-quota protesters for withdrawal of case by Saturday

Anti-quota protesters on Friday demanded withdrawa of the case filed against 700 unidentified demonstrators on charges of vandalising government vehicles by Saturday, reports UNB.

They also threatened to initiate tough movement if the case is not withdrawn within the stipulated time.

Mohammad Rashed, co-convener of "Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad", came up with the demand at a press conference in front of the central library of Dhaka University in the afternoon.

"We strongly condemned it and demand withdrawal of the false and fabricated case by Saturday next", he said.

On Wednesday, police sued 700 unknown students, who took part in the demonstration against the quota system of government jobs in Shahbag area, for obstructing law enforcers' duty and vandalising government vehicles.

Among others, Hasan Al Mamun, convener of the movement, co convener Faruk Hossain and Uzzal Miah were present at the press conference.
