BCL withdraws 11 SUST students' expulsion

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has withdrawn its previous order expelling 11 leaders and activists of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), reports UNB.

A press release in this regard signed by Chhatra League president Saifur Rahman and general gecretary SM Zakir Hossain was issued on Thursday.

The BCL men are central committee members Abu Sayed Akand and Sazidul Islam Sabuj, vice-president Syed Juyeem, joint general secretary Ashraful Alam Auntu, deputy liberation war affairs secretary Laksan Chandra Barman, members Munkar Kazi, Toufiqur Rahman Tanmay, Basir Miah, Meher Uddin Himel, Raihan Ahmed and Shariful Malik Sharif.

On 20 March, SM Abdullah Rony, student of Food Engineering and Technology, sustained bullet injuries during a clash between the supporters of Abu Sayed Akand and Sazidul Islam Sabuj over establishing supremacy on the campus.

Later on 21 March, BCL expelled 12 leaders and activists of the unit following the factional clash.
