RU scraps MCQ system in entry tests

Rajshahi University (RU) authorities have cancelled the Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) system in the first year honours admission tests for the 2018-19 academic year.

Vice chancellor of the university professor M Abdus Sobhan made the announcement while talking to newsmen after attending a programme held over the 65th founding anniversary of the university on Friday, reports UNB.

“It is really not possible to justify talent of a student through MCQ system. This is why from now on the MCQ system will no longer be in first-year admission tests of the university,” he said.

The university administration has taken a decision that the students have to sit for one-hour-long examination, consists of a written test of 200 marks, to secure a position in the university, he added.
