India to introduce technology to seal border with Bangladesh
India is planning to use an ‘integrated border management system’ to seal the international borders of both West Bengal and Assam, said Indian media outlet The Eurasia quoting India’s union home minister Rajnath Singh.
According to the Indian media report on Sunday, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Rajnath said the centre had sought land from the West Bengal government to erect fencing to seal the border with Bangladesh, but is yet to receive it.
“Now, we have decided to use technology to seal both international borders with Bangladesh using a comprehensive integrated border management system,” Singh was quoted to have said after addressing a rally in Alipurduar district
