Man killed in Benapole bomb attack
A man was killed in a bomb attack at Kagojpukur village in Benapole on Friday evening.
The deceased was Amirul Islam (48), allegedly the chief of a gang 'Amirul Bahini' and son of Lutfar Rahman of the village.
Officer-in-charge of Benapole port police station Masud Karim said a group of miscreants pounced on Amirul near Kagojpukur School field around 6:15pm while he was returning home from Benapole Bazar by his motorcycle.
They threw three crude bombs on him, leaving him dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Jashore Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
Amirul was accused in several cases, including murder and extortion, added the OC.
