SSC examinee abducted outside exam centre, stabbed
A Secondary School Certificate (SSC) candidate was stabbed in front of his examination centre in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur on Thursday, reports UNB.
The injured Shuvo Haolader, 16, who was supposed to sit for Thursday's Finance and Banking examination, was rushed to Shibchar Upazila Health Complex and later, moved to Faridpur Medical College Hospital considering the severity of his injury.
Family and hospital sources said Shuvo, son of a certain Ali Mia Haolader, hailing from Bhanga upazila, reached the exam centre at Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Government Girls' High School around 9:30am.
An alleged terrorist Nahid and another called Shuvo while he was entering the centre and brought him to the bank of a nearby pond. They stabbed Shuvo on his legs indiscriminately with an axe, leaving him severely injured.
Shibchar Upazila Health Complex medical officer Imdadul Haque said the extent of Shuvo's injury was fatal. The tendon of his right leg might have been cut off.
Officer-in-Charge of Shibchar police station Zakir Hossain said they were trying to arrest the accused.
