Man gunned down in city
A young man was gunned down in the city's Merul Badda on Saturday, reports UNB.
Police captured a suspected killer along with a revolver from the spot soon after the incident.
The deceased is Badsha, 30.
Police said miscreants shot at Badsha on the street in front of Merul Badda fish market and fled the scene leaving Badsha on a pool of blood at around 1:00pm.
However, police with the help of local people caught one of the suspects, known as Nurul Islam, 30, along with a revolver and six rounds of bullets from the area soon after the incident, said Kazi Wazed, Officer-in-charge of Badda police station.
Police rescued Badsha and rushed him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Later, he succumbed to his injuries at around 6:00pm.
Detained Nurul Islam has been wanted by Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police in a case for a long time. Now, he is being interrogated under the custody of the DB, the OC said.
