School boy’s body recovered from neighbour’s house
The body of a school boy, who was reportedly abducted on Sunday, was recovered from a neighbour's house in Ramchandrapur village of Bheramara, Kushtia on Monday evening, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Ashik Uddin, 14, son of Kutub Uddin of the village and a class VII student of Dharampur High School.
The victim's father Kutub Uddin said his neighbour Mishuk, son of Samor Ali, called his son around 11:30am on Sunday and was there till noon.
The victim's father received a phone call for a ransom of amounting Tk 50,000 around 4:48pm.
Later, Kutub Uddin went to Mishuk's house and did not found his son there. But, Mishuk's younger brother Asif told Kutub that Mishuk went to his father-in-law's house.
However, when the victim's father inquired about the phone number, Asif confirmed the phone number was owned by Mishuk.
Later, the victim's father informed it to police.
On information, police conducted a search operation at Mishuk's house and recovered the body from a wooden box on Monday evening, said SM Tanvir Arafat, superintendent of Kushtia police.
Police also detained two people for primary interrogation, he added.
