Marwari couple found dead in Joypurhat
Police recovered the bodies of a couple belongs to Marwari community (South Asian ethno-linguistic group) from Marwaripatti of the district town on Thursday.
The deceased were Krishnalal Rungta, 59 and his wife Debi Rungta, 53, residents of the area and owners of 'Payel Cloth Store'.
Locals said that the domestic help of the couple came to the house around 11:00am and found their door opened.
As the couple did not respond despite her repeated call she informed the matter to the neighbours.
Their relatives and neighbour rushed in and found them dead.
On information, police recovered the bodies around 12:30pm and sent those to Joypurhat District Modern Hospital, Md Mominul Haque, inspector of Sadar police station.
The couple might have been strangulated to death as there was no injury marks on their bodies, said the police official.
The neighbours said that there was no one in the house when the incident occurred as the couple's son Bikki and Payel went to India for shopping.
