Oikya Front suspects Zaman Tower fire ‘sabotage’
A fire broke out at Zaman Tower, a multi-storey building, which houses the office of Jatiya Oikya Front, in the city’s Bijoynagar on Friday, reports UNB.
The fire erupted around 2:40pm on the eighth floor of the building but it is unclear what caused it, said Rasel Shikdar, duty officer at the fire service control room.
Oikya Front’s office is on the third floor of the building.
“We fear it is an act of sabotage to impede our works before the national election,” said Latiful Bari Hamim, Oikya Front’s media wing member.
Eight firefighting units are trying to extinguish the fire, said Rasel Shikdar.
The extent of damage could not be known immediately.
